Write to Think
Build the foundation every future essay depends on.
Before personal statements, before supplements, before any of it — students need to know how to construct an argument, support a claim, and revise their own work. That's exactly what this track builds.
What this track is for
Most 8th and 9th graders have been told to write — but not how to think through writing. This track changes that. Students learn to form a real thesis, build evidence-based paragraphs, and revise with intention. These aren't just school skills. They're the skills that make every future essay — college, scholarship, or otherwise — dramatically easier to write.
Live Zoom sessions
1-on-1 coaching, not recorded modules
8 weeks
One session per week, 60 minutes each
Real deliverable
A finished essay and a checklist you keep
Week by week
Thesis bootcamp
Claim, reason, roadmap. Students learn to write a thesis that actually argues something — and to make sure every paragraph answers the question "so what?"
Evidence & analysis
Quoting, paraphrasing, and the 2:1 rule: two sentences of analysis for every sentence of evidence. Students stop summarizing and start arguing.
Argumentative structure
Counterargument and rebuttal — without strawmanning. Students learn to acknowledge opposing views in a way that strengthens, not weakens, their own argument.
Feedback habits
Peer review protocols, revision checklists, and portfolio reflection. Students finish with a personal revision checklist they'll use on every future piece of writing.
What your student walks away with
A polished 750-word argumentative essay
A real, finished piece of writing — not a worksheet or a template.
A personal revision checklist
Built from their own patterns and tendencies, so they can self-edit more effectively on every future assignment.
A stronger writing identity
Students finish this track knowing they can write — and knowing how to get better.
